Cha-Cha-Chain Me to The Tables at Cha Cha Chicken – LA

My dear shimmering glistening beautiful little cherubs, I dare you to tell me that the picture above is not the most beautiful sight you’ve seen today. Amiright amiright? You’re welcome.

Okay peeps, today I will take you to a magical place called Cha Cha Chicken. This place is seriously off the hook delicious. It’s a Caribbean joint in Santa Monica, LA. Yup, we are still in LA. I have saved the best for last for this place is ridiculous. Do you guys know that Henry IV was such a chicken fiend that he once said, “I want there to be no peasant in my kingdom so poor that he cannot have a chicken in his pot every Sunday” ? True story. Well if dude was still kickin’ it today, he would’ve said “I want there to be no peasant in my kingdom so poor that he cannot have a cha cha chicken in his pot every Sunday,” because their chicken is bananas.

First and foremost, I would like to give a super special shout out to my dear friend Selvi, who introduced me to this place. I met her a few years back, here in Brooklyn, but like everyone else in my life, she left me to live in California, LA to be exact. Anyways when I went to LA last year, we met up and she took me to Cha Cha and blew my friekin mind! So dear Selvi, thanks babycakes, you rock!

This is her, by the way:
KABLAM! Hot, right? Yup, she’s a looker that one.

Anyways, we got there and got to ordering right away. Cha Cha is kind of a beach shack sort of joint, so you order at this little kitchen thing, then they give you a number and you sit down and wait for the food to be delivered.

I took a picture of the menu, but I was shaking with excitement so all I got for you guys is this blurry picture, whoops:

I ordered the cha cha chicken – duh what else? And Selvi ordered a jerk chicken enchilada. We also got some delicious drinks.
We had the option of eating “inside”:

Or outside:

We picked outside, OBVI. It was a beautiful sunny day, my hair was doing its best not to look crazy, and they got palm trees, umbrellas, tiki torches and christmas lights. Easiest decision ever. I bet this place is super cute and romantic at night. I will investigate further on my next trip.

While we waited for our food, we got our drinks on:

Oh man, I don’t even remember what they were exactly, but they were so good! I think they’re one of those aqua frescas. I’m pretty sure we had the mango-guava ones, but the fact that they put orange slices in them is pretty curious. Whatever, they were yum yum.

Here’s Selvi posing with our cute shell table number (I made her do it, she’s such a good sport!):

This is my sinfully good cha cha chicken, their signature dish:

I took some sexy close-ups of course. You know me. It was a sunny, we were out side, perfect time to take some ridiculous close ups of food.

It came with rice and beans and plantains:
The rice and beans were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Those plantains were crazy good. Sweet and ripe.. just perfect.

The dish also came with a side of red slaw:
It was crunchy, light, and yup, delicious. Man I wonder how many times I’ve used “delicious” in this post already.

And of course, the chicken (pre-cut):

And here’s the chicken post-cut:
Succulent juicy chicken paired with super tasty Jamaican jerk sauce.. oh man oh man oh man. It was brutal. I went at it like some crazed psychopath. It was that good.

Selvi got the jerk chicken enchiladas, which was described in the menu as such: “signature Jamaican style chicken breast enchiladas smothered in our sweet spicy mango pineapple jerk sauce.”

I tasted it. It was friekin good. Seriously.
You see that little piece of chicken peeking out? AH I WANT TO GO TO THERE right now. You naughty, naughty little minx you!

So there you go. Go to Cha Cha Chicken (here’s the info). Run, don’t walk. It’s that good. Everything is delicious and seasoned perfectly. So tasty. Also, I didn’t feel like gross and stuffed afterwards. Just perfect.

Cha Cha Chicken, like I even need to tell you this, or like you even care, but you my friend, get Photobucket five hungrymias.
